Title:  Rehabilitation robotics in clinical practice

Aim: Robotic techniques have great potential to enhance patients' rehabilitation, within existing staff resources.  However, adoption into clinical practice has been slow.  This workshop will allow attendees to hear and discuss various factors influencing adoption; these will include:

  • patients' considerations in relation to home-based systems
  • clinical and engineering aspects of device development
  • alignment with patients' overall rehabilitation programmes
  • practicalities of prescription and record keeping.

The workshop will focus on upper limb robotic systems.
