Description:
Join us at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab for a half-day program hosted by C-STAR (Center for Smart Use of Technologies to Assess Real-World Outcomes). This satellite conference will explore the latest advancements in the use of AI to measure and interpret human biomechanics, featuring expert presentations on innovative methods for measuring clinically meaningful function. Topics include the strengths of computer vision and sensors for biomechanics measurement, the potential for AI to elucidate difficult-to-measure properties, and cutting-edge research on perception, action recognition, hand tracking, and human-object interactions. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with thought leaders and explore the future of functional assessment.

Description:
End-user feedback is essential to improve design and accelerate translation of rehabilitation technologies in practice. We will introduce different methods to gather feedback from clinician and community endu-users of rehabilitation technologies, including interviews, surveys, think-alouds, and focus groups. To demonstrate how to operationalize technology feedback sessions, we will hold live Technology Feedback Panels on upper and lower extremity rehabilitation technology that include components of robotics, computer vision, and app development. Participants will observe how the feedback sessions moderators organize the sessions for optimal constructive feedback, as well as how people with a variety of backgrounds (patient, clinician, engineer) provide valuable feedback from different perspectives. Participants will learn how to mix qualitative and quantitative feedback to optimize rehabilitation technology development.
